Panther Paws of Hope: Therapy Dog Effort Series #4

Therapy Dog Donation Series Post #4!

We donated our fourth doggie care package to support Murphy & his handler in Gowanda Central School District’s therapy dog program!

The therapy dog program launched halfway through the 2021 school year. Panther students across the district were adapting to a post-pandemic world both in & out of the classroom, and the challenges were taking a mental toll. Thus came the therapy dog program. Fast forwarding to today, the program is thriving with dog coverage across the district for both student & faculty mental support.

Murphy, a part of the original therapy dog trio, is a yellow lab at the middle school. His daily routine starts with greeting Panther students & faculty throughout the hallways. Then, he visits classrooms to provide a paw with activities and assignments. Outside of school, Murphy loves playing catch!

We were thrilled to support Murphy with a doggie care package of toys & treats! Extra tennis balls were included as a necessity. Special thanks to Just Pets for their continued collaboration in this series!

Are you interested in supporting Murphy and the therapy dog program? Click on our Venmo or Paypal bio links, or mail a check to PO Box 44, Gowanda, NY! All donations on behalf of the handlers will be submitted to the school district at the end of this series. Please consider helping these therapy dog teams support our local students!

Have a great week, Gowanda!
