Panther Paws of Hope: Therapy Dog Effort Series #2

Therapy Dog Donation Series Post #2!

We donated our second doggie care package to support Renny & his handler in the Gowanda Central School District’s therapy dog program!

The therapy dog program launched halfway through the 2021 school year. Panther students across the district were adapting to a post-pandemic world both in & out of the classroom, and the challenges were taking a mental toll. Thus came the therapy dog program. Fast forwarding to today, the program is thriving with dog coverage across the district for both student & faculty mental support.

This week, we saw Renny, a 2-year-old bernedoodle who spends his days with 5th graders at Gowanda Middle School. He loves to brighten everyone’s day with snuggles & hugs. Renny is also a great hall monitor, never letting a student or teacher miss a chance for pets or snuggles between class periods. When he is not at school, Renny loves playing in WNY’s snowy weather, taking long walks, and camping with his family!

We were thrilled to support Renny with a doggie care package of his favorite crinkly toys & salmon treats! A gift certificate for local dog grooming was also included. Special thanks to K9 Clippers & Just Pets for their continued collaboration in this series!

Are you interested in supporting Renny and the therapy dog program? Click the digital donation links in our bio, or mail a check to PO Box 44, Gowanda, NY! All donations on behalf of the handlers will be submitted to the school district at the end of this series. Please consider helping these therapy dog teams support our local students!

Have a great week, Gowanda!
