Collecting Candy for Soldiers Overseas!
We are excited to collaborate with Gowanda Cub Scout Pack 276 for Operation Treats for Troops!
This service project has the young scouts collecting excess Halloween candy for U.S. Army service members serving in Europe. The weeklong effort has candy drop-offs at Gowanda Elementary School, American Legion, VFW, and Peace of the Pie. All donations must be wrapped in their original packaging.
Many scouts are local Panther students and look forward to showcasing military appreciation this holiday season. Along with popular candy choices not being readily available, serving overseas is especially challenging for service members who are parents. Many missed the opportunity to participate in Halloween activities with their children. The scouts hope this effort reminds everyone serving abroad that their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
