Christmas in Gowanda Post #1 of 3: Chang Hu Park Tree Lighting!
We finished decorating Chang Hu Park for Christmas in Gowanda’s tree lighting on Saturday!
The community flocked to the park Saturday night to welcome the holiday season together as friends, family, & neighbors. Through the crisp air, Christmas carols echoed into the night from the talented students of the GCS high school choir. Community leaders took the stage soon after to reflect on the holidays as the village pushes into 2024. We then all joined together in the tree-lighting countdown!
After the initial park decoration before Thanksgiving, we revisited the holiday space throughout last week to add the final touches! Reindeer were dotted around the park, a wreath archway was added for family photos, and a beautiful “Christmas in Gowanda” sign was hung at the pavilion. Huge shout out to Class of 2010 GCS Grad Marya Hoffman for designing such a beautiful piece! Special thanks also go to The Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce and the GHS ImPactful Panthers student volunteer group for the festive Christmas-themed light posts & tree ornaments, respectively.
This wouldn’t have been possible without everyone involved. Thank you so much for supporting this effort, Gowanda! It truly does take a village. We appreciate everyone who contributed in one way or another to such a magical evening!
Please feel free to share your event pictures and everlasting memories. Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Gowanda!
