Community Effort: Christmas in Gowanda Parade!

Christmas in Gowanda Post #3 of 3: Holiday Parade!

We enjoyed participating in this year’s holiday spirit parade during Christmas in Gowanda!

With clear skies and Main Street lined on both sides, the annual Christmas parade set off shortly after the tree lighting at Chang Hu Park. This year’s lineup included floats, dancers, and fire trucks! Our floats were at the start, with three in total.

First, a float was dedicated to our fallen US service members. The soldier’s cross, an eagle, and signs portraying “Freedom isn’t Free” & “Never Forgotten” were all featured in the design. The second float thanked troops currently serving, as many will miss the holidays with their loved ones. Last but certainly not least, our third float wished everyone in Gowanda a Merry Christmas!

These floats were an ambitious project that was worth it on Saturday night! We hope everyone got the chance to see Santa’s elves while they were throwing candy. They even reenacted the iconic crosswalk scene from the “Elf” Christmas movie! Thank you to everyone who made Christmas in Gowanda possible for us. We want to highlight that donations do not contribute to building the floats and instead go directly into efforts to support our great community.

Please feel free to share your event pictures and everlasting memories. Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Gowanda!
