Setting the Stage for Christmas in Gowanda 2023!
We completed the first wave of Chang Hu Park decorating for this year’s Christmas in Gowanda over the weekend!
The special holiday event is next Saturday, December 2nd. Downtown Gowanda will be full of Christmas spirit with wagon rides, holiday crafts, and even a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus! As the clock strikes 7 pm, bustling Main Street will move down the road to Chang Hu Park for the Christmas tree lighting.
The ceremony welcomes the holiday season every year while bringing us together as friends, family, & neighbors. Its focal point is Chang Hu’s beautiful pavilion. We wanted to improve the park’s holiday atmosphere, so the pavilion was a great place to start! First, the pillars were wrapped with garlands and white lights. They were then finished off with big red bows. The tree itself was decorated soon after, and red & green lights were also hung from the park’s center trees for when people enter the magical space!
Decorating would have been beyond possible without the help of Gowanda High School’s ImPactful Panther student volunteer group. The generous community members who donated toward decoration expenses aren’t going unnoticed either. Thank you so much for supporting this effort, Gowanda!
