Beautifying Gowanda Series: Chang Hu Park Effort

Music & Mulch is in the Air!

We beautified Chang Hu Park ahead of this summer’s Music in the Park through our “Beautifying Gowanda” series!

Beautifying Gowanda is our seasonal program to improve public recreational areas throughout the village. This series features outdoor work & maintenance to transform these locations into more welcoming places for local families and our community as a whole. After focusing on St John for Memorial Day, we turned our attention to Chang Hu before Music in the Park kicks off tonight!

Music in the Park is an annual summer event that hosts live performances from local bands and artists. Every Thursday evening this month will have great music echoing through the village’s night air. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the concerts free of charge, with The Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce offering food and a 50/50 raffle as well.

Ahead of the event, we focused on touching up the concert area. The first few days of summer had us weeding the many flowerbeds. We then transitioned to weed-whacking the park’s benches, sidewalk, and pavilion. Once the pavilion & sidewalk were prepped, pressure washing began. Special thank you to Superior Seal for providing a pressure washer and assisting us over the holiday weekend! We finished the day by mulching the park’s sign and Christmas in Gowanda tree.

Check out the park for yourself tonight during the first concert! Thank you kindly for your time, and we hope you have a great rest of your day!
